well, from the title, i'm sure you've guessed what the topic is about. This year, I got a new mobility instructor. and she's horrible. She doesn't know what she's talking about, 99% of the time. My lessons are supposed to be about 30 minutes. and i just finished 1 after an hour and a half. the rest of my opinion is going to be given at a time when I don't have any filters to worry about.

That stinks. But do you think she's new? Maybe she hasn't gotten the hang of what she's supposed to do yet, and you're one of her first students. If She's reteaching stuff you already know, tell her. Or if she's trying to over-explain things (which I don't like much either, unless I ask for that), you could tell her that you don't need it and what you do think would be most helpful to you. Just some suggestions. *smiles* I hope I don't, but I might be switched to a new mobility instructor also, because the one that I used to work with I'm told is not under contract with the DBS in my city anymore. (She still works as a mobility instructor, but DBS is now getting their own). But I hope somehow that I can still have the instructor I've had since middle school (the one I'm talking about), because she understands how I learn and what I already know. With a new instructor, to me, it's like you almost have to start over again because you have to get used to each other and everything.

So what exactly happened in this lesson that made it last an hour longer?

i have to say, i'm not a huge fan of mobility lessons anyway, but on a similar thing, i have been given a fulltime assistant which i don't want and dont need! she has no experience at all with visual impairment, plus, she doesnt know how to teach me the routes i need to learn, she doesnt know about looking for landmarks or anything!!! im a teaching assistant in France (for those of you who dont know me or havent seen my profile,) and the stupid school say i have to have to have her in my classes. its so anoying cos she doesnt stand back, but she gets involved and helps my students which is my responsibility! im just so angry!!! i just dont understand why these stupid people are employed by people who are even more stupid and they dont have any experience or knowledge which makes things really frustrating for us!

she's a fuckin cunt! and she's a little rodent, she even squeaks like one. She used to work with adults in southern california, but now we're stuck with her in michigan.
she doesn't really care about the students, she's just a control freak, and if you do the slightest thing wrong, she'll be a complete bitch!
